LITTLE BRIDGES OT SERVICES
1

ASSESMENT

A range of standardised and non standardised assessments are available and are determined based on the child's needs and the family's priorities. Obtaining information from relevant parties including preschool and school teachers is also integral to the assessment process.

2

INTERVENTION

Functional and measurable goals are established in conjunction with families and a range of strategies are employed to facilitate progress in the child's area of need. Intervention may encompass working directly with the child or upskilling carers and educators. Often it is  a combination of both. Inclusion of parents in the session is an important part of facilitating the transfer of skills to the child's own environments to support long term gains. Approaches are grounded in evidenced based practice with the aim of delivering therapy in a fun and motivating way that children love!

3

PARENT COACHING

We recognise that parents and carers possess their own expert knowledge when it comes to their children. Sometimes however, parents and carers benefit from additional support to help them to generate their own solutions that will best fit their lifestyles. Other times, providing families with supplemental knowledge is all they need to overcome areas of concern in relation to their child's performance.
